A Staff Away From the Office
Virtual assistants gain popularity among attorneys.
By Tina Dhamija

The term “virtual assistant” might be a new concept for the legal world, but as technology continues to streamline remote collaboration, the field is gaining a reputation as a new method for solos and small firms to handle fluctuating volumes of work in a quick and cost-effective way. LegalTypist Inc., a virtual assistant service based in Long Island, N.Y., is just one of an emerging group of virtual assistant agencies. Founded by Andrea Cannavina, a 15-year veteran legal assistant, now with Rivkin Radler, LegalTypist began in 2001 and continues to grow as more attorneys send work for completion outside their firms.

“Financially speaking, attorneys that outsource benefit because they don’t have to pay for a full-time secretary when they don’t have a consistent workload, nor do they pay employee taxes or provide office space, equipment, software licenses or training when they send work to LegalTypist,” Cannavina said. “Attorneys also don’t have to worry about pay for holidays, vacation or sick time, provide medical benefits, provide retirement or other incentive benefits, factor in overtime pay or create and manage an in-house word processing department.”

Message from Pam Hunter ~

Creative Office Services opened in 1989 with an idea that office support could be offered off-site, thereby saving businesses time and money.  In 1989, it was not fashionable to work off-site ... today it is commonplace, and it is called "virtual assistance".

I would welcome the opportunity to become your "virtual" legal team.  Virtual assistance is the way of the future and the success rate of virtual assistant (VA) teams is outstanding.  If you have never worked with a VA, give me  the opportunity to work on a small project for you.  You will be very satisfied.
